Admissions process steps
Please register by emailing [email protected] or by scheduling a tour here.
As part of the process for primary and middle school applicants, you will be asked to send a questionnaire to the reference of your choice. Kindergarten students will be sent a separate evaluation to be completed by a caregiver. This is an opportunity for us to get a sense of your child’s learning style and any other information relevant to helping him or her settle in at ISB. You will also be asked to upload copies of the student’s birth certificate, passport, and school reports from the previous two years.
If your child is placed on the waiting list, the application will be reviewed quarterly. While on the waiting list, parents are allowed to decline an offered place once and remain on the waiting list. The second time an offered place is declined by the parents, the child will be permanently removed from the waiting list. A new application must be made if the child continues to seek admission.
ISB reserves the right to decline admission if our evaluation suggests that ISB will not be the best fit for your child.
Requirements For English
In our lower grade levels (K1-P3), ISB accepts students with no previous experience in English. Students entering upper Primary (P4-P5) must be able to achieve a high level of English before entering Middle School. It is important that students entering the MYP have a strong foundation in academic English.
For Middle School
Due to the structure of the Middle Years Programme, students are normally not able to start at ISB in the final year of the MYP (M5), they must start at the beginning of M4 or earlier. There may be rare exceptions for students joining from another IB school.
Leaving ISB
Withdrawal
Notification of withdrawal must be submitted within 30 days plus the remainder of the current month. This also applies to students leaving at the end of the school year. A withdrawal form is available from the office.
Long-term leave
Occasionally we have ISB families requesting leave for a shorter or longer period. In these situations families can either:
- Request to keep their spot(s) by paying the full fee while away on long-term leave. This may not always be possible.
- Apply to get re-enrolled at ISB when returning from the long-term leave. In this case ISB will charge the application and registration fees upon return.
Should you have questions about any of the above, please contact Admissions Manager Regina Rasmussen at [email protected]
