William

Where are you these days?
Currently I am attending a sports boarding school named Vesterlund Efterskole, which is about 25 km away from ISB. It’s absolutely amazing.

What was it like to make the transition from ISB into a new environment?
It was surprisingly not too bad, I didn’t think that much about it during the summer and when the day finally came it really wasn’t that bad.

What part of the transition have you found the most challenging?
I think the part that I found most challenging was leaving behind my old classmates, teachers and the school environment that I had been used to for 10 years.

What did you carry with you from ISB that’s been the most valuable?
I definitely carry on my “really good” level of English compared to my current classmates. No, but honestly I think I’ve carried on a lot of the things that I learnt at ISB.

What do you miss the most?
I really miss my old classmates, my old teachers and of course, the kitchen ladies!

Now that you’ve been out in the “real” world for a while, how has your view of ISB changed?
I don’t really think that my view of ISB changed from when I left in June. However, I definitely realized how different ISB is to regular Danish education or just an efterskole.

How has your thinking about your own future changed since this time last year?
It really hasn’t changed that much. I’m still set on going to either STX or HHX at a Danish gymnasium near Billund.

What advice do you have for the current M5s?
To the current M5’s, you really should practice for your exams and take them seriously. Talking from experience here.

What do you plan on doing next?
Not really sure, I know I’m going to attend a gymnasium but if it’s going to be STX or HHX I still don’t know.

Any messages for your old school?
I really miss you all! I promise to come visit😁
